Valley of Fayetteville NC Scottish Rite

ABOUT: Fayetteville NC Scottish Rite

The Valley of Fayetteville was born in 2023 with a clear purpose: To satisfy the appetite of Scottish Rite Masons who lived anywhere within the 200-mile stretch between Charlotte and Wilmington and who craved the opportunity to be more involved is helping the fraternity prosper.

The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to describing our success thus far:

  • In 16 months since receiving our Letters Temporary from the Supreme Council, we have put on four reunions that made Perfect Elus. The first of those allowed us to receive our charter as the Valley of Fayetteville Lodge of Perfection at the Biennial Session in August 2023;
  • In that same 16-month span, we increased our membership from the 29 with whom we launched to 49. We currently serve as the entry point for Scottish Rite Masons who are now Masters of the Royal Secret and members in the Valleys of Raleigh, Greensboro, New Bern, and Wilmington;
  • We assisted Wilmington with its October 2024 reunion by supplying a 20th Degree team -- an extension of work that Masons from the Fayetteville area have been performing in New Bern for well more than a quarter-century;
  • We participated in New Bern's October reunion by supplying our newest team, the 6th Degree (Confidential Secretary) -- a degree its classes had not seen performed in about a decade, as well as the 20th;
  • We have hosted ring ceremonies for our newest members, the Feast of Tishri, and a Ceremony of Remembrance and Renewal. We have contributed to the Orient golf tournament, raised money for Hurricane Helene relief through the North Carolina Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation, and assisted brothers in need via our Almoner's Fund -- the things that the other eight, more-established Valleys in North Carolina are doing. We may be the new kids on the block, but we're doing our best to match the others stride for stride.

And while we have shouldered a heavy workload, we are far from close to the goal to which we aspire. We are already making a concerted effort to take the next step, which would be to earn a charter for a Chapter Rose Croix. Our 18th cast is hard at work preparing to confer that degree at our next reunion, scheduled for Feb. 1, 2025.

We eagerly welcome the participation of Masons throughout the Sandhills region, be they new members or affiliates from another Valley. The QR code for our petition isn't hard to find on this site, and we invite you experience the fellowship we share. Our Stated meetings are held on the third Wednesdays of each month at the Fayetteville Masonic Center (2860 Village Dr.) at 7:30 p.m. For information whether we will have a meal prior to the meeting, contact our General Secretary, James Pugsley, at secretary@scottishritefayettevillenc.com, or me at personalrepresentative@scottishritefayettevillenc.com.
